<h2>Continental ContiProContact SSR</h2> <p><strong>OVERVIEW</strong></p> <p>The Continental ContiProContact SSR (MOExtended) is a touring, all season tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs. This model is the original equipment tire of select Mercedes-Benz vehicles.</p> <p>This tire is the run flat version of the ContiProContact tire and it was manufactured using the Self Supporting Runflat (SSR) Technology, which allows the tire temporary restricted mobility. After the loss of air pressure, the tire supports the weight of the vehicle and the passengers for 50 miles and up to 50 mph, thanks to the special reinforced run flat tires. In the case of air pressure loss the driver can safety arrive at a destination to repair or change the tire. This means the driver will not be stranded on the side of the road with a flat tire. Since run flat tires are heavier, they should not be mixed with regular radial tires.</p> <p>The tire is an all season model, which means that it has excellent all weather traction. The tread pattern and the tire compound used in its manufacture grip the road firmly in all weather conditions. The PROactive Edge technology provides additional biting edges, further enhancing its dry, wet and winter traction. The lateral and circumferential grooves in the tread pattern help eliminate water from under the footprint. This makes the tire hydroplaning resistant and makes the driving experience safer even in deeper water.</p> <p>The ContiProContact SSR (MOExtended)’s larger footprint offers additional driving stability even at higher speeds, which improves the driving safety and performance. The larger footprint along with the optimized shoulder lug stability boosts the steering responsiveness and precision of the tire model. The driver can react quicker to the differing road conditions and situations. The superb stability and steering accuracy promote a better high speed performance.</p> <p>Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.</p>
