OVERVIEW

The Achilles ATR Sport 2 is a performance and high performance, depending on the speed rating of the specific tire size, summer tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs.

This tire model offers excellent summer weather traction, and it grips the road well in dry and wet road conditions thanks to its special directional tread pattern. The tire is not recommended for winter use, as the tread compound loses its traction on ice and in snow and it does not grip the road well in colder temperatures. The tire helps resist hydroplaning by channeling water from below the footprint for an increased wet traction and superb hydroplaning resistance.

The tread design helps improve the steering responsiveness and the cornering capability of the model. The continuous center rib on the tread maintains constant road contact, which improves the high speed linear stability of the tire, as well as its steering responsiveness and precision. As the tire is swift and accurate in its response to the driver’s commands, the driver is capable of confidently steering the tire in dry and wet weather. The interconnecting tread blocks on the tire’s tread area enhance the cornering ability and power. They provide additional biting edges in cornering situations, thanks to their constant road contact. The better driving stability, cornering ability and steering responsiveness make the tire better for high speed driving.

The ATR Sport 2 was manufactured using the Matric Technology which help cleans out mud and rocks stuck between the tread blocks. This enables the tire to maintain its traction, as the tread never gets blocked from its road contact. The rim guard on the sidewall of the tire protects the rim from any accidental curb damage that can happen during high speed driving.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
