OVERVIEW
The Kelly Edge Sport is a performance and high performance, all season tire manufactured for passenger vehicles. Kelly offers a 45,000 mile treadwear warranty with this model.
All season traction is promoted with this model. The all season compound and symmetric ribbed tread design work together in order to increase its year-round performance. As a result, the tire’s sipe and groove placement increases the grip on the road surface, enabling the model’s dry, wet, and light winter weather applications. The compound elements keep the rubber flexible throughout the year, even in the heat of summer and colder temperatures. Three circumferential grooves work to disperse water and slush from the footprint, avoiding hydroplaning in the process.
High speed controllability is guaranteed as well. The center ribs optimize road contact at all times, which enhances the tire’s steering responsiveness and driving stability. In other words, the tread elements’ firm surface traction provides a quick and precise steering response, while the structure is stabilized. The optimized shoulder blocks generate traction even during cornering, enabling its safer maneuvering ability. Sipes and notches create friction at the moment of braking, shortening the model’s braking distance.
The Kelly Edge Sport uses its tread design and all season compound to enhance its service life. The consistent road contact of the symmetric ribbed tread design evenly distributes driving pressure across the tread area. Equal pressure circulation avoids irregular wear, while the durable compound decreases wear with wear-resistant rubber materials. This combination promotes slow and even wear, upgrading the tire’s tread life and usability.
Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
