The Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 is a high performance, summer tire made for passenger vehicles and SUVs. This model was manufactured using Michelin’s Motorsport Technologies and the data gathered at the races. As a result, this model has excellent stability and durability at high speeds, increasing its high speed performance and traction. Thanks to the technologies used in its production and the maximized road contact area, the tire maintains its uniformity and exceptional stability under the pressure of high speed driving and offers a superior performance. This tire is the perfect combination of high speed endurance and comfort for everyday driving. The tire has excellent dry and wet weather traction due to the tire compound and the special asymmetric tread pattern. The rubber compounds used in the manufacture of the tire are a hybrid silica and a carbon black compound. This combination enhances the tires road grip in those weather conditions and provides a safe driving experience. Winter weather driving, however, is not recommended as the tire loses its superb traction in lower temperatures. The tread pattern design’s wide circumferential grooves eliminate water from below the tire’s footprint, resisting dangerous hydroplaning effectively. The asymmetric tread pattern helps enhance the tire’s steering responsiveness. The large outer shoulder blocks and the continuous ribs in the tread pattern increase the tire’s stability at high speeds and provide more precise steering responsiveness. The enhanced steering makes the model more responsive to the commands of the driver, therefore the driver is capable of providing a quick response to differing surface conditions. The same semi-slick outer shoulder design is responsible for the improved cornering ability of this model. The boosted cornering ability and power allow the tire to maintain its road contact and traction while cornering and maneuvering, making the tire more responsive and the drive safer. The Pilot Sport PS2 offers a quiet and comfortable driving experience. The acoustically tuned, asymmetric tread pattern lowers the road noise heard during high speed driving by channeling the soundwaves through the tread grooves in the tire’s footprint.
