OVERVIEW
The Toyo Open Country WLT1 is a highway terrain, winter tire manufactured for light trucks.
The tire promotes great winter weather traction. The tread pattern design features large, staggered tread blocks and a high-density siping detail that firmly grips the ice- and snow-covered road surfaces. The wide circumferential and lateral grooves prevent hydroplaning by dispersing water and slush from below the tires footprint. The treads deep grooves also maintain a clean footprint by eliminating snow stuck between the tread elements, which prevents the tire from being blocked from its contact with the road surface. As a result, the tire received its three mountain peak and snowflake symbol that indicates its capability to handling the most severe winter weather.
The model is easily controlled. The wide tread footprint with the siping detail closely follows the road surface at all times. This improves its steering responsiveness and driving stability. In this manner, the steering becomes faster and more precise in its response to the drivers instructions, while the structure is stabilized against the driving pressure affecting the model. The high-density siping detail on the shoulder tread blocks heightens the number of biting edges gripping the road surface at all times. The better road grip during cornering ensures a safer maneuvering capability on ice- and snow-covered road surfaces.
The Open Country WLT1 has first-rate durability. The reinforced heavy-duty construction and the rigid casing structure withstand the driving and load pressure affecting the tire without deformity.
