This 50-gallon electric hot water heater is compatible with a Leak Shield® shut-off valve, which automatically turns off the water supply when a leak is detected (valve available for purchase separately). When sized appropriately, this water heater is suitable for homes with 3 to 4 people. This model contains two copper 5500 Watt heating elements, a protective anode rod, a self-cleaning dip tube to reduce sediment build-up and Tank Guard advanced tank protection to extend its life. Built-in dry fire protection prevents the electric 50-gallon water heater from being turned on unless the tank is full of water, eliminating accidental burn out the upper element. It boasts a 0.92 Uniform Energy Factor (UEF) rating, which reduces power consumption and saves you money on energy bills when compared to less efficient hot water heater models.
