Installing a transfer switch doesn’t need to be complicated. The switch is prewired with labeled wires to make installation fast and easy. Your indoor-rated and UL 1008-certified transfer switch includes a 30-foot heavy-duty generator power cord and weather-resistant power inlet box. The manual switch may be surface or flush mounted. Need to replace or expand circuits? No problem. The circuit breakers are interchangeable. Use your included power cord to connect any 240-Volt portable generator (14-50 receptacle required) to the power inlet box, even those with GFCI outlets. We recommend a Champion portable generator. The rocker switch on the front panel safely and easily transfers power to the selected circuits from either utility power or generator power. The power-indicating LED lights make it easy to determine where there is available power: utility, generator, or both. A green light indicates utility as the power source at the transfer switch, blue indicates a generator power source, and both lights illuminated means both sources are available.
