This model is the original equipment tire of select Mercedes-Benz vehicles. The tire promotes great summer weather traction. The special motorsport racing inspired tire compound combines silica, for wet weather traction, resin, for dry weather traction, and polymers, for tread stiffness, to ensure a safer drive. The asymmetric tread design also boosts the dry and wet weather road gripping ability. The treads wide circumferential grooves disperse water from beneath the tires footprint, enhancing the wet weather traction in this manner and preventing hydroplaning. The model is not suited for winter weather performance. This tire is a run flat model. Its reinforced structure enables the model to withstand the weight of the vehicle and its passengers in case of air pressure loss. When air pressure leaves the tire due to a puncture or other damage, the tire can still be driven on for 50 miles up to 50 mph.
