OVERVIEW

The General Exclaim HPX A/S is a performance and high performance, all season tire manufactured for passenger vehicles. General offers a 65,000 mile treadwear warranty with this model.

The tire promotes first-rate all weather traction and road gripping ability with the combination of the tread pattern and the tire compound. They grip the road firmly in dry, wet and winter weather and ensure a safer driving experience. The wide circumferential and lateral grooves prevent hydroplaning by dispersing water and slush from below the tire footprint. The improved water dispersing ability and the enhanced all weather road grip promote excellent driving safety.

The model’s tread design features the Visual Alignment Indicators (VIA) and Replacement Tire Monitor (RTM). The VIA technology places different depth lines on both shoulders of the tire and the driver can easily determine if the vehicle’s alignment is correct or not as a result. If the lines on the two opposite shoulders wear in the same manner, then the alignment is good, but if the wear is not identical the alignment should be checked. The RTM places the words “Replacement Tire Monitor” on the tire’s center rib. When the tire is close to wearing out, the words change to “Replace Tire” and it notifies the driver that the tire needs to be replaced.

The tread pattern sports specially placed 3D sipes along the tread surface. They maintain constant road contact which enhances the tire’s steering responsiveness and driving stability. The better road contact and road gripping ability stabilize the tire against the driving pressure, which prevents the tire from deforming under the forces of acceleration, cornering and braking. The maintained road contact also improves the steering by making its response to the driver’s commands quicker and more precise. This ensures a safer driving experience all year round.

The Exclaim HPX A/S promotes a long lasting tread life. The special Stabilitread promotes a larger flat footprint which improves the road contact. The larger footprint evenly distributes the driving pressure across the tread area, which lowers the possibility of irregular tread wear patterns forming across the tread area. The extended even wear upgrades the tread life and the tire’s usability.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
